Mostly everyone is convinced that when they talk about the roots they talk about 2D bullshit. The very statement of Sonic going back to its root as something 2D is quite hillarous especially when the current era is 2D dominant and Sonic has never been that unpopular since the classic era's obscure age. Sega must give us the proof that they aren't shallow in their analysis anymore before I take their ''roots'' statement seriously.
